Welcome to Leslie Wilson's Website

Leslie Wilson’s acclaimed novel, Malefice, is now available as a Kindle book on Amazon.

‘Malefice is a hugely original book, absorbing, elegant, and chilling.’
Hilary Mantel, author of Wolf Hall.

‘Spare and elegant, a chilling examination of a community struggling to make sense of its deepest suspicions and resentments.’
The New Yorker.

Welcome to my website, where you can read about me, my German family background, and my books, as well as about my source material for the novels set in Nazi Germany, Last Train from Kummersdorf, and Saving Rafael – and school visits.

I hope you enjoy it, or find it useful, since clearly stuff about Nazi Germany isn’t what you call enjoyable. But even in that dark area of human history, there are heartening stories, and those are the ones I’ve written about in my last two novels for young adults.

I am blogging with a group of other authors nowadays, rather than keeping up a regular private blog. It is published at THE HISTORY GIRLS BLOG where you can also see archived blogs from me, and from many other authors. My blog is usually up on the 23rd of every month.

This month’s History Girls blog is about the first days of Hitler’s rule in Germany, and what it might have felt like. You can read it HERE.

Last Train from Kummersdorf has got a Facebook Page! Do visit it.

The Guardian newspaper recommends LAST TRAIN as one of the best kid’s books about World War 2!
